Ex-mamlatdar among 8 booked for land fraud

Rajkot: Bhuj police have booked eight persons including a former mamlatdar for usurping a huge plot of land by making bogus power of attorney and sale deeds.The land in Mirjapur village near Bhuj belonged to one Dhansukh Patel, who has been living in Muscat for years. On January 31, 2018, they even got the entry made in the revenue records along with a sale deed in the name of Nishant, Kunal and Deepak.The land is valued at over Rs 6 crore.When Padmani got to know about the fraud, he lodged a complaint with Bhuj B-division police station on Monday. Ambalal Padmani, who is engaged in timber business, handles his land-related works.Padmani lodged a complaint against Vasudev Thakkar, his son Nishant, Vinay Vinod Relan, his son Kunal, Dinesh Jobanputra, Harshad Songhela, former mamlatdar B A Rohit and Deepak Thakkar.Padmani alleged that Thakkar prepared a bogus power of attorney and forged Patel’s signature keeping Songhela and Jobanputra as witnesses..
