Rajkot Municipal Corporation floats tenders for Hospital Chowk flyover

RAJKOT: The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has floated tenders for construction of a triangular flyover at Hospital Chowk, one of the busiest crossroads of the city. The flyover will be 299-metre long on Jawahar Road side, 400-metre long on Kuvavda Road and 367-metre long on Jamnagar road. Municipal commissioner Banccha Nidhi Pani said, “We have decided the feasibility of the flyover after surveying traffic volume on this cross road.”The RMC will need to acquire 2,709 sqm land on Jamnagar Road, 1,311 sq m land on Jawahar road and 1,988 sqm land on Kuvadva road. It is estimated to cost Rs 59.24 crore.The triangular flyover will have three ends — one near Railway Hospital gate on Jamnagar road, other near I P Mission School on Kuvadva Road and the third near Jubili Baugh on Jawahar road.It will cover all the three major roads that currently meet at Hospital Chowk.
