IMFL worth Rs 24L seized from village near Sayla

Rajkot: More than 6,000 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 24.43lakh were seized and one person was arrested from Sudamda village of Sayla taluka in Surendranagar district on Tuesday.The accused Puran Salvi, a resident of Chittorgarh in Rajasthan, is cleaner of the truck. They added that some locals also picked up some of the bottles from the accident site before police arrived. Besides arresting Salvi, police also booked driver Kalu, Ramku Kathi of Udaipur in Rajasthan who supplied the liquor and Radheshyam Ambela of Sayla, the truck owner under Prohibition Act.Meanwhile, a car carrying IMFL turned turtle near Halvad town of Surendranagar after hitting a divider while trying to overtake a truck.Police said that they have recovered 780 bottles of liquor worth Rs 2.34lakh from the car..
