RMC to launch mega IT-enabled system to improve civic services

Summary:

Rajkot: Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) will launch a Rs 151 crore information technology (IT)-enabled project to provide seamless civic services to the citizens.Chief minister Vijay Rupani will launch the ‘Master System Integrated Project’ christened Savottam on Sunday.This project has been developed under ‘Pan City Solution’ which provide users IT-based smart solution for various civic services. All the records of various RMC departments will be scanned and soft copies will be maintained.Savottam also has a geographic information system (GIS) which will enable RMC to know the number of properties registered and conduct an accurate property survey. A smart hawking system also will enable officials to know about encroachment on the road using artificial intelligence. Using this project, which has components like transport management system (TMS), real-time bus information system, passenger inform systerm and automatic fare collection system.RMC will also launch the Rajkot Mitra card which can be used to avail plethora of services of the civic body. The other component is Adoptive Traffic Control System (ATCS) in which 30 new traffic signals in the city will be installed and managed automatically..
