Jharkhand: Kolebira bypolls to be held on December 20

RANCHI: The Election Commission of India on Thursday notified the dates for the scheduled bye-election for Kolebira assembly constituency in Simdega district of Jharkhand A statement issued by the ECI in the afternoon said Kolebira will go to polls on December 20. Ekka was terminated after a lower court in Simdega handed him a life term for murdering Manoj Kumar , a para-teacher in November 2014. The last day for withdrawal of candidature will be December 6,” the ECI said.The seat, situated in the tribal heartland of Simdega district, fell vacant on July 10 after Jharkhand Assembly speaker Dinesh Oraon terminated the membership of sitting MLA Enos Ekka. “The last date of filling nominations will be December 3.
