33-feet tall bronze statue of Vivekananda unveiled

RANCHI: Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Saturday unveiled a 33-feet-tall bronze statue of Swami Vivekananda at Bada Talab, popularly known as Ranchi Lake , on the occasion of his 156th birth anniversary and the National Youth Day. The statue project was supposed to be completed in January 2018, however it got delayed due to delay on part of Ranchi Municipal Corporation in finalising tender works. He also renamed the popular lake as Vivekananda Sarovar. Apart from that we are also planning to develop other waterbodies across the state to turn them into tourist destinations.”The total cost of the beautification project including the statue is pegged at Rs 17 crore..
