Suspected PLFI rebel lynched in Gumla for wife’s torture

Gumla: A suspected PLFI area commander, identified as Sandeep Gope (29), was lynched by Satpara villagers on Monday night, reportedly for torturing his wife, police said on Tuesday. As Sarita raised an alarm, a woman from her neighbourhood came to her rescue, but she was manhandled by Gope. This infuriated other villagers, who charged at Gope with lathis and beat him to death.Sinha said Gope’s body has been sent for post mortem. He added, “Gope has been torturing his wife for the last two months due to which there was already a dissent among the family members, particularly from his brothers. He added, “In 2015, Gope was arrested under the Arms Act.”.
