55 govt personnel medically unfit for poll duties in Palamu

Daltonganj: Fifty-five government personnel were found medically unfit among 149 applicants who had requested the district administration to exempt them from poll duty on health grounds, officials said. A six-member board evaluated the applications. The board comprised five doctors — Kalanand Mishra, R K Ranjan, Awadesh Singh, Rajesh, and Usha Kiran — and a magistrate, Shadan Nusrat. “Twenty-two trauma centres will also be set up for the elections,” Singh said, adding, “Seven private hospitals have also been roped in to tackle poll-related medical emergencies.” The district has 1,582 booths and 162 clusters..
