58 ‘dilapidated’ booths relocated in Ranchi

Ranchi: The district administration on Wednesday notified the change of 58 booths to new locations across six Vidhan Sabha constituencies in Ranchi. The changes were made owing to the dilapidated condition of the existing buildings or the location of booths on the first floor.Talking TOI, Ranchi district public relation officer Prabhat Shankar said: “These booths are being relocated to nearby locations as the buildings where they are located in are not in good condition. Of these, 11.07 lakhs are male and 10.18 lakhs are female voters. This time, around 21.25 lakh voters have registered themselves in the district. “The voters in these booths will be informed about the change in booths through various methods so that they have no difficulty is casting their votes on the polling day,” he added.While the Lok Sabha elections will be held in four phases across the state, Ranchi will vote on May 6..
