The state had recorded 78 cases on January 23, making Thursday’s spike the biggest spike in a month.

Ranchi reported 47 new cases while East Singhbhum reported 13.

Six new infections were detected in Seraikela-Kharsawan district while Bokaro, Deoghar and Khunti reported two cases each.

As on Thursday, the state’s cumulative caseload stood at 1,19,795 while the total recoveries stood at 1,18,241.

The death toll was at 1,087.

A total of 479 healthcare workers took Covid-19 vaccine on Thursday, making up 14% of the day’s target of 3,434.

A total of 3,360 frontline workers turned up at the session sites for the vaccination, making up 29% of the day’s target of 11,469.

On Thursday, Jharkhand’s cumulative vaccination coverage of the first two phases stood at 77%, with 3,00,137 out of the registered 3,92,079 healthcare and frontline workers having taken the vaccines so far.
