Indian Meteorological Department Predict Heavy Rainfall in Next Few Days in State

A CorrespondentSHILLONG: After a spell of unusually hot weather in the State, Meghalaya has been hit by monsoon causing widespread rain in most places. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall which is likely to occur at isolated places in the State on July 11 and 12. According to the Additional Deputy Commissioner, people are advised to take extra care during heavy rainfall as there is likelihood of flash flood, especially in areas near the rivers and streams. Students have also been advised not to cross rivers and streams during heavy rain and tourists visiting the tourist spots should not venture into streams, rivers and waterfalls.
