WILLIAMNAGAR: The first phase of Jal Shakti Abhiyan campaign in the East Garo Hills culminated with an awareness programme organized by the Williamnagar Municipal Board (WMB) at DRDA Hall on Thursday. A large number of people including the senior citizens participated, stated a press release. Speaking on the occasion, East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Swapnil Tembe, asked the people of the region to understand why the Central government started the Jal Shakti Abhiyan campaign and stressed on the importance of water conservation.
