A ReporterSHILLONG: The Meghalaya Government will soon be submitting its suggestions and recommendations on the amendment Bill of the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution to the Parliament Standing Committee. “The compiling of the suggestions and recommendations by the District Council Affairs (DCA) department is almost complete. The DCA will be sending its recommendations on the amendment bill to the Home department and it would be then submitted to the Parliament Standing Committee,” official sources said. According to official sources, the recommendations made by the committee headed by DCA Minister James PK Sangma for deletion of the word “unrepresented tribes” from the amendment bill has also been incorporated.
