Staff CorrespondentShillong: The National Girl Child Day was observed in the city on Friday. The programme was organized by the District Task Force on Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, East Khasi Hills district in collaboration with the office of the District Programme Officer, ICDS, East Khasi Hills district at the U Soso Tham Auditorium here. The programme was also attended by M War Nongbri, Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson, District Task Force, East Khasi Hills, officials from the Social Welfare, Health and Education departments among others. Later, Nampui also led the gathering in administered the pledge on Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.
