Shillong: In a shocking incident, a Khasi Students' Union (KSU) member, Lurshai Hynniewta was killed following a clash with non-locals at Ichamati, Shella under East Khasi Hills District on Friday evening. As per info received after the meeting against CAA and demanding ILP, non-tribals cornered the KSU leaders; this led to a clash between the KSU activists and the non-tribals who were well armed with machetes and sticks. The village head of Ichamati village and the police were also assaulted by the non-tribals. Soon after the incident, the East Khasi Hills District the administration has imposed a curfew in the entire district including the capital city Shillong.
