Meghalaya receives 305 new Covid-19 cases, over 5 lack vaccinated

Meghalaya received 305 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Saturday while 6 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours.

Saturday`s fresh cases have pushed the total cases tally to 41,906.

The north-eastern state has 4,623 active cases currently.

The cumulative recoveries reached 36,550 after 547 under-treatment patients recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24-hours.

The total fatalities in the state have mounted to 733 after six deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.

Among the fresh fatalities, 4 were reported from East Khasi Hills, and 1 each from East Jaintia Hills and West Garo Hills districts, Health Services director Aman War said.

The Health Department has tested 6.24 lakh samples to date.

At the same time, 5.01 lakh people in all age groups have been vaccinated in the state.
