Meghalaya records surge in Covid fatalities, cumulative death toll crosses 1000 mark

Summary:

The cumulative recoveries reached 54,356 after 411 under-treatment patients recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24-hours.

The total fatalities in the state have climbed to 1009 after 21 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.

Meghalaya received 588 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours while 21 people succumbed to the deadly virus.

As on 23rd July, the state`s total cases tally has reached 59,904.

The north-eastern state has 4,539 active cases currently.

The new cases of infection include 213 from East Khasi Hills, 52 from Ri-Bhoi, 85 from West Garo Hills, 115 from West Jaintia Hills, 5 from East Jaintia Hills, 24 from West Khasi Hills, 4 from South West Garo Hills and 7 from South Garo Hills, 24 from West Khasi Hills, 11 from East Garo Hills and 7 from North Garo Hills.
