Shillong, Dec 8 (PTI) Senior Army officer Lt Gen K C Panchanathan was cremated here on Thursday with full military honours, officials said on Thursday.
Panchanathan, 57, passed away at a hospital on Tuesday evening following a heart attack.
Meghalaya cabinet minister Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar and Assam minister Chandra Mohan Patowary laid wreaths on behalf of their respective governments, the officials said.
The Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Air Staff also paid tribute to Panchanathan, who was in charge of the 101 Army base here, a Defence release said.
