SHIMLA: For setting up solar power projects, the Himachal Pradesh government has decided to give preference to bona fide Himachalis. To harness 20MW of solar power, preparations have already been started to invite applications in this regard. Those desirous of applying for solar projects should have their own land and if the applicant does not have his own land then it should be a leased one. He said that a solar rooftop plant costs Rs 60,000 per kW.
