Narendra Modi’s unfulfilled promises to be main poll issue: Congress

SHIMLA: The Congress sounded poll bugle for coming parliamentary election by holding day-long convention for Shimla parliamentary constituency on Thursday. Neither import duty on apple was hiked nor the Giripar area of Sirmaur district was given status of scheduled tribe area. She said that BJP MP from Shimla would also be asked questions about his visits to the assembly constituencies of Shimla parliamentary seat.She said that questions would also be asked about the condition of village adopted under Adarsh Gram Yojana. Feedback was also taken by party office-bearers from the grass-root workers.Congress Himachal affairs incharge Rajni Patil said that party would be in attacking mode for the failure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promises made during 2014 parliamentary elections. During the meeting, eight-point agenda, along with main issues confronting the state, were discussed and it was decided that failure of BJP governments in the state and at the Centre would be the major poll issue for the Congress.All the senior party leaders remained present in the day-long convention..
