DHARAMSHALA: In a first, the Kangra district police arrested a drug peddler on charges of culpable homicide after a youth died of drug overdose.The police have arrested a female under Section 304 of the IPC. He was accompanied by his three friends, who brought him to the hospital . A youth, in his twenties, was brought dead at a hospital in the area.Later, investigations revealed that the deceased, Sachin Kumar, 26, went to buy drugs at the Channi Beli area of Indora and went unconscious after injecting drug. The accused woman was produced in the court and was sent to custody on Sunday.SP Santosh Patial told the TOI that this was the first such step to punish drug peddlers in the area.“It is suspected that earlier also a few youths from Punjab have become victim of drug overdose on the border areas of the district,” he said.The incident took place on Friday at Indora area of Kangra district..
