BY: Sanjay ChopraMOHALI: It’s wonderful to see the introduction of glasstopped coaches on the Kalka-Shimla rail route. A train of this sort was much required, keeping in view the world heritage status of the track as given by Unesco (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).A lot many Indian and international tourists visit Shimla and the upper reaches of the Himachal Pradesh. The new coaches having see-through glass rooftops and fitted with modified windows, cushioned interiors, designer LED lamps, and air conditioning. Given the unavailability of a good air link with Shimla and other cities of the hill state, this train remains their favourite mode of travel between Chandigarh and Shimla. The Railways did a trial run of vista dome on the section recently..
