Summary:

DHARAMSHALA: The winter session of Himachal Pradesh assembly kicked off on a stormy note on Monday as Congress raised the matter of land allotment to yoga guru Baba Ramdev . Later, Congress legislatures staged a walkout, forcing the BJP government to issue a detailed clarification on this land deal. The government had recently allotted land to Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust in the state on lease that had been cancelled by the previous Congress regime in 2013. BJP legislators responded by saying that the previous Congress government had given land to Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. The opposition also claimed that the chief minister is issuing threatening statements on public platforms. Speaker Rajeev Bindal asked them to bring the matter under discussion and directed the house to begin the question hour. But Congress leaders came into the well of the house, shouting slogans against the BJP, creating pandemonium in the house. The process for the same was started in 2009.In a bid to corner the ruling BJP on this issue, Congress legislatures shouted slogans, saying when the government has failed to provide uniforms to about 8.50 lakh students, it has given priority to allot land to Baba Ramdev..
