Shimla: Rs 44.4 crore budget, Rs 2,342 crore deficit

SHIMLA: Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur , who also holds finance portfolio, presented the budget estimates of Rs 44,387.73 crore for 2019-20 in the state assembly on Saturday with estimated revenue deficit of Rs 2, 342 crore. He said that the government had established direct dialogue with general public through ‘Jan Manch’ and numerous other platforms. “This is a token of respect for such persons,” he added. He said that the state government would prudently manage the existing liabilities and expenditure on account of new schemes in this year’s budget.“We will do our utmost to seek additional central assistance to fund the government’s priorities..
