SFI and ABVP activists clash in Himachal Pradesh University

SHIMLA: Around a dozen students were injured in a clash between SFI and ABVP activists near Himachal Pradesh University , Shimla on Sunday morning. All the injured were admitted at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital for treatment.According to sources, incident occurred around 6.45am at Potter Hill Nature Park when ABVP activists were stressing on holding their “shakha”, SFI activists continued to play cricket and soon both sides attacked each other.While SFI activists accused the ABVP activists of attacking them with ‘laathis”, ABVP activists claimed they were attacked by SFI activists with cricket bats and wickets. The clash broke out when ABVP activists asked the SFI activists to stop playing cricket as they wanted to hold “RSS shakha”. He said that RSS was holding regular “Shakha” at that place regularly and it was a planned attack with weapons on RSS and ABVP. Angry students refused to talk to Pro Vice-Chancellor Rajender Chauhan when he tried to speak with them to pacify them.Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur termed the clash between two group of university students as unfortunate..
