In a shocking incident, terrorists have attacked a Srinagar Hospital and freed one Pakistani terrorist- named Naveed.

According to SSP Srinagar, 6 detainees have been brought to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh hospital where Naveed snatched weapons from police and fired at security personnel.

The firing killed a police man and left injured another.

"There was somebody close to him who fired at our two constables," Imtiaz Ismail, Senior Superintendent of Police, Srinagar, told media.

Police are investigating whether he was helped by accomplices who were already positioned inside the Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital as he was brought there by a police party from the Rainawari central jail along with five other prisoners this morning.

The preliminary report suggests that two of Naveed’s associates were also present inside the hospital.

The hospital has been cordoned off but it is still not clear whether Naveed is still inside or has managed to flee the premises.

Emergency services are operating inside the hospital and the police said that while they are focusing on capturing the prisoner, they are also trying to ensure that patients at the hospital are not disturbed.

Naveed was arrested in 2014 and was involved in several terror attacks in Kashmir, including one in which a teacher on election duty was killed.

He is also believed to be behind the killing of at least seven policemen, including three near a courthouse in Pulwama, about 36 km from Jammu and Kashmir capital Srinagar.
