Love jihad case: Notice to police on allegations of ‘submitting false status report’

CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh district court issued a notice to Chandigarh Police on Wednesday after the defence moved an application alleging that it (UT police) submitted a false status report in the ‘love jihad’ case, in which an underage Srinagar resident has been charged for criminal intimidation and rape of Chandigarh-based girl. The court also sought a reply on an application moved by the defense counsel to register a case against sub inspector Upwinder Singh in case.The court had sought status report from police on the complainant’s age, acid attack and rape..
