JK shivers, more rains-snow in next 24 hours

Srinagar: Shivering under the intense cold weather in Jammu and Kashmir, some areas in Valley witnessed seasons coldest night temperature fall to minus 6.8 degree Celsius on Saturday, the Meteorological (MeT) department has predicted more snow and rain fall in next 24 hours.

Hilly regions of erstwhile Doda, higher reaches of Reasi and Poonch in Jammu province have been subjected to severe cold conditions with normal life adversely affected by interior roads blockades and snapping of communication with the divisional HQ at Jammu.

Srinagar: Shivering under the intense cold weather in Jammu and Kashmir, some areas in Valley witnessed seasons coldest night temperature fall to minus 6.8 degree Celsius on Saturday, the Meteorological (MeT) department has predicted more snow and rain fall in next 24 hours.

Hilly regions of erstwhile Doda, higher reaches of Reasi and Poonch in Jammu province have been subjected to severe cold conditions with normal life adversely affected by interior roads blockades and snapping of communication with the divisional HQ at Jammu.

“This type of Cold conditions will last for some more days.

And we are expecting snow and rainfall in valley with in upcoming 24 hours” MeT officials said, adding that “upper reaches of valley may witness heavy snow, while moderate to low in plains”.

Officials told that, the snow and rainfall might affect visibility, but will improve and help in regaining the normal temperature.

Kashmir valley witnessed chilling fall of night temperature and freezing of water bodies including drinking water taps and supply lines were frosted added problems to public.
