Surat: Surat Smart City Mission has been chosen for city award for showing great momentum in the implementation of different projects. It would be given during the two-day meeting of Smart City Mission to be held in Jaipur from July 7.Surat is alone to get award in the city category under Smart City Mission for its work in the areas of urban environment, mobility, transport and sustainable integrated development, sources said.Surat Smart City Mission had a total outlay of Rs2,908 crore when it began on June 25, 2015. At the end of three years, Surat has completed 17 of the total of 58 projects worth Rs173.31 crore. The award was announced on June 20 by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. Intelligent transit management system (ITMS), SMAC centre and visual improvement-street light projects are among those completed..
