The memorial project has been developed on 15 hectares of land. Surat: The Dandi Memorial built at an estimated cost of Rs72 crore will be dedicated to the nation on January 30.Ministry of Culture, Government of India had sanctioned Rs90 crore for the project. The statue of Mahatma Gandhi and those of 81 satyagrahis are ready. By January 30, we will be able to open the main memorial for the people.
