Surat industry to ink MoUs worth Rs 16,150 crore

Surat: Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) committing investment of nearly Rs 16,150 crore will be inked by players in various sectors of Surat in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2019.The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) will ink MoUs for 255 projects, most of which either been proposed or in some stage of implementation. Another small sports complex project is proposed in Rander area at the cost of Rs 40 crore .In hospitality, Unity Holidays has proposed building a star-rated hotel on Sumul Dairy Road with an investment of Rs 85 crore. This includes a Rs 500 crore textile market proposal by construction firm Orange Corporation in Parvat -Magob area.Other notable projects include a Rs 300 crore multi-speciality hospital in Vesu -Bhartana area put up by Nirmal Hospital Group that runs one unit on Ring Road at present .Two sports complex projects have also been put up and one of them is coming in Variyav at the cost of Rs 500 crore by diamonds major Dharmanandan Group. However, the lion’s share will come from commercial, textile and residential real estate construction projects along with hospitality and sports complex construction.SMC officials claim that its total investment commitment is highest by any municipal corporation of the state .There are eight major projects listed for MoUs in Gandhinagar on January 19 ..
