Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) will be among the few civic bodies in the country to complete the projects undertaken under Smart Cities Mission of the Union Government within the stipulated time. SMC that launched 70 projects worth Rs2,690 crore in June 2015 is expected to complete them in five years by June 2020.Deputy municipal commissioner CY Bhatt said, “We are on track and will complete all the projects within the stipulated time.”The civic body has already completed 28 projects worth Rs365 crore. SMC has already introduced Surat Money Card and completed Intelligent Transit Management System.SMC is first civic body in the country to set up two more tertiary water treatment plants under Smart Cities Mission..
