SURAT: A one-year-old girl succumbed to swine flu in Kapodra area of the city on Thursday. This was the first death due to swine flu in the city this year.Meanwhile, six new swine flu cases were detected in the city and three in Surat rural areas. Condition of 14 of them is stable whereas two patients are on ventilator and six on oxygen support. Two patients whose condition improved were discharged from hospitals on Thursday. Among those who tested positive for swine flu in Surat rural areas included an 11-month-old boy from Choryasi , a 45-year-old woman from Kamrej and a 26-year-old woman from Umrapada.Health department officials said at present 22 patients were receiving treatment in different hospitals in the city..
