Gujarat board exams: Two dummy candidates nabbed

AHMEDABAD: Two dummy candidates were nabbed on Monday by the officials of the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) for taking class 10 and 12 exams in Ahmedabad.This is for the first time in seven years that two dummy candidates have been nabbed in a single day in the city.Three cases of cheating, including one in Surat, were registered on Monday. Action has also been initiated against the students on whose behalf the dummy candidates took the exams.“A flying squad was alerted based on a tip-off,” said R C Patel, district education officer, Ahmedabad. In Maninagar’s Lalita Green Lawns School, Amit Yadav, also a private student, was caught taking the exam for a class 12 commerce student. A case has been registered against Amit Yadav.The candidates have been declared failed and have been barred from taking any examination for two years.
