The state government announced on Tuesday that restrictions on commercial and other activities, along with night curfew, will continue for another week.
A number of restrictions are already in force in all eight municipal corporation areas and 28 other cities and towns in a bid to contain spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
The restrictions and night curfew from 8 pm to 6 am will remain in force until May18, after which a decision will be taken, the state government said.

Thanking citizens for co-operating with the government, CM Vijay Rupani, after the core committee meeting, said that as a result of night curfew and other restrictions,the number of daily Covid-19 positive cases have dropped from over 14,000 to around 11,000.
A statement said that all shops providing essential goods — medicines, fruits and vegetables, milk, opticians, groceries, bakeries and other stores selling eatables — will remain open.
Besides, industries, factories and construction activities will continue to remain open across the state.
All other guidelines will remain unchanged, the government informed.
