Civic body floats tender for slum solid waste mgmt

Thane: The solid waste management (SWM) department of the civic body has started the process of floating tenders for manual door-to-door waste collection from over 1.90 lakh tenements across 127 slum settlements in the city.The proposal, which was discussed in 2018-19 civic budget aims to ensure 100 per cent solid waste collection from slums that are not easily accessible by the current civic waste collection vehicles.
