The government will amend section 29 of the FSSA, under which milk adulteration is an offence.FDA commissioner Pallavi Dharade said such an exercise will help keep adulteration in check. “Thus, 19,250 litres worth Rs 5.7 lakh were destroyed,” Adhav said.An FDA official said that given the nature of contaminants, it appeared that the adulteration was deliberate. “Of the samples tested on the spot, 13 were found to be of substandard quality as they contained low-quality fats and SNF (solid-not fat),” said Shailesh Adhav, joint commissioner (FDA), Greater Mumbai..
