THANE: Over 170 weapons, including air guns, swords, choppers and axes, have been seized from a BJP functionary’s fashion products shop in Dombivli. A case was registered under various sections of Arms Act.Locals said Kulkarni was a well-known face and a very active worker of the BJP. They said that during initial questioning, Kulkarni said he had already sold some weapons. Locals said the arms seized were showpieces or antique items for sale.There were nine air guns, 10 swords, 38 button knives, 62 steel knuckle-dusters, 25 choppers, three axes, nine guptis (bladed weapon concealed in wooden case), five knives, one sickle and nine khukris among the seized weapons.
