Tempo spins out of control, two boys taking school bus hurt

THANE: Two school students were injured after a tempo lost control and hit a car before ramming into their school bus and hitting the boys on Saturday morning. The car in turn rammed into the rear of the school bus, said a police officer. The two schoolboys who sustained minor injuries were rushed to a hospital, said an officer from Rabodi police station.On the basis of the registration document, the owner of the tempo was traced, eventually leading the police to the 17-year-old who was at the wheel of the tempo, the police said. The injured children—Ved Kate and Kanak Joshi, both aged 11 and class VII students—sustained minor injuries.The police said that the accused, who is a minor, fled the scene but was traced later.Around 10 am, the two boys were heading towards the bus after school when the tempo came at a high speed and hit a car parked by the road. “The tempo owner told us that he was not at the wheel, but it was his younger brother who was driving in the morning and was involved in the incident,” said an officer.As the accused is a minor, he was not detained according to guidelines laid in the Juvenile Justice Act, but he has been issued a notice and accordingly the accused has been summoned to the police station on Monday.A case has been registered at Rabodi police station..
