2 flyovers thrown open for easy commute between Mumbai, Thane

THANE: Good news for motorists who commute between Mumbai and Thane daily. The Jail talao landing is likely to be thrown open after a few days, said an official. The Y-shaped bridge takes off from Gokul Nagar and lands at Khopat, while another arm bifurcates over the junction to land at Jail Talao. Noise and view barriers have been installed on the two newly inaugurated bridges; signages will be set up soo, said officials.While the Naupada flyover , which is 647 metres long and 7.6 metres wide, connects Jijau garden with Hari Niwas crossing the busy Ice Factory junction, the unidirectional Castle Mill flyover is 1,347 metres long and 7.5 metres wide. They can now use the internal flyovers constructed over LBS Marg near Castle Mill and MG Road at Naupada to beat the slow-moving traffic on Eastern Expressway Highway due to the ongoing Metro and Kopri bridge widening works.The two bridges, which were part of a three-intercity flyover project planned and executed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), were thrown open for motorists by Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray on Sunday..
