THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is interesting to note that the two Keralites Google has honoured with a doodle are womenboth trailblazers in their respective fields. A doodle was created on the 45th anniversary of Chipko movement led by a group of women. She did her studies in Kalakshetra and Shantiniketan.She married renowned physicist Vikram Sarabhai in 1942. Mrinalini was the first recipient of the state government’s Nishagandhi Puraskaram in 2013. Seven years later, the couple started the Darpana Academy of Performing Arts in Ahmedabad.Their son Karthikeya Sarabhai and daughter Mallika Sarabhai too grew up to become famous artistes.Freedom fighter Captain Lakshmi was Mrinalini’s sister..
