Kerala floods: 24,000 in Kozhikode relief camps

The district administration has opened 267 relief camps in four taluks.According to official figures 6,950 families were moved to relief camps due to flooding and landslides. KOZHIKODE: Around 24,000 people have been shifted to relief camps in the district. KSRTC buses are carrying out service from Kozhikode to Sulthan Bathery and Kalpetta in Wayanad through Thamarassery Ghat and Kuttiady Ghat. The ministers directed the officials to shift people living in floodthreat areas to relief camps.Wellbeing of the weaker sections staying at relief camps should be prioritised, said the ministers.Meanwhile, KSEB authorities have lowered the shutters of Kakkayam Dam from 350 cm to 250 cm.
