THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CBSE schools in the state have come up against some of the recent interventions by the CBSE regional office. The Kerala CBSE school management association has passed a unanimous resolution asking the new regional officer, Tarun Kumar , to end his ‘divisive’ practices.The resolution accused the officer of ‘demoralising’ the school managements by informing the media that strict action would be taken against CBSE schools that collect money while appointing teachers. If there was any violation by individual schools, CBSE can take appropriate action, but attempts to create division and un-healthy relationship between schools were not acceptable, the resolution said.They also blamed the regional officer for conducting inspections at schools without giving prior notice.The association slammed Kumar for making staff attendance mandatory at Christian-management schools on Easter and Good Friday . The association said there was no such practice among CBSE schools in Kerala and the news in this regard had put them in bad light.The association also accused Kumar of trying to build an unhealthy relation between schools. This, they claimed, was done by prompting schools to report on entrance coaching facilities, if any, run by other CBSE-affiliated schools in their locality..
