Tamil Nadu aid for those hit by cyclone

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government has initiated steps to provide assistance to the Cyclone Gaja affected districts in Tamil Nadu, according to an official release issued by the chief minister's office here on Tuesday.Declaring the state's support to the people of Tamil Nadu, the release said essential items will be sent to relief camps in the affected areas. Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) and district disaster management authorities of Alappuzha , Ernakulam and Kozhikode will deliver items, including drinking water, tarpaulin, candles, dried food items and new clothes to Thiruvarur and Nagapattinam districts of Tamil Nadu," it said.These materials, the CM office said, were being dispatched on the basis of talks held between Tamil Nadu State Disaster Management Authority (TNSDMA) and the KSDMA..
