‘Bill to ensure min wages for unaided teachers ready’

Thiruvananthapuram: Education minister C Raveendranath said in the assembly that a draft bill on Kerala Payment of Minimum Wages to Teachers of Unaided Institution has been prepared by the labour department. The bill is at present under the perusal of the law department.At present, the government has limitations in involving in the administrative matters of unaided schools. The government has now informed the court that there will be no closure of schools in the academic year 2018-19, said the education minister. The government has issued an order to close down all such schools in July 2017 following which the education department has taken steps to close such schools. However, many schools which were given notice for closure had approached the high court and obtained stay order against the government order..
