Thiruvananthapuram: The dawn-to-dusk hartal called by BJP in the district passed off peacefully except for some isolated incidents of violence. Stranded travellers were a relieved lot as the shops within the terminal stayed open. A KSRTC super fast bus which was travelling towards Neyyatinkara from Kozhikode was pelted with stones by three men at Moonukallinmoodu. KSRTC cancelled most of the long services scheduled to begin from Thiruvananthapuram fearing attacks.Private buses also stayed off roads but majority of autorickshaws and taxis plied in the city much to the relief of commuters. As we are not very familiar with the city, we were forced to stay indoors due to lack of vehicles..
