IFFK: Lijo Jose wins Rajata Chakoram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Iranian film 'The Dark Room', scripted and directed by Rouhollah Hejazi, won the golden crow pheasant award (Suvarna Chakoram) for best film at the 23rd edition of International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) which concluded here on Thursday. 'Sudani from Nigeria' won the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) award for best Malayalam movie. The film had also featured in the competition section. Beatriz Seigner won special mention for her film 'The Silence',a film which portrays the lives of a mother and her two kids on the run from an armed conflict.Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and minister for film and culture A K Balan distributed the awards. The film features four main characters: a pickpocket, a vendor of sweet and savoury snacks, a labourer-activist, and a conductor of 'Heritage Walks' and encapsulates their perceptions on old Delhi with an engaging mix of languages and dialects..
