Two women prevented from trekking Sabarimala again

Sabarimala: Tense situations prevailed at Sabarimala on Wednesday when two more women who tried to enter the Sabarimala temple were blocked by protesters.Reshma Nishanth and Shanila Shajesh of Kannur, who were part of a larger group which consisted of men, reached Pamba by 4am and started trekking to the hill shrine. “Already, several women have entered the hill shrine. This is nothing but goondaism,” said the minister.Police strength reduced by one-third: Barring the attempt of the women to enter the shrine, Pamba and Nilackal remained calm on Wednesday, IG Sujith Das said. With the Makaravilakku pilgrimage season ending on Monday, police have cut down their strength in the hill shrine by one third.Around 42,000 pilgrims had darshan on Wednesday.
