Kollam: CPI district executive and district council meeting held here on Wednesday witnessed verbal duel between the council members opposing the removal of the incumbent secretary N Anirduhan and those supporting the state leadership of the party.When CPI state assistant secretaries Sathyan Mokeri and K Praskashbabu communicated the state council decision to give the charge to Mullakkara Ratnakaran, majority members raised objection as just two months were left for the Lok Sabha poll.They pointed out that if the appointment of a regular district secretary could wait till the elections were over; there was no point in removing Anirudhan and handing over the charge to Ratnakaran for a short period.However, Anirudhan conceded to the demand and Ratnakaran was handed over the charge..
