Probe hints at political rivalry

Kannur: A day after the murder of two Youth Congress workers, Kripesh, 19, and Sarath Lal, 21, at Periya in Kasaragod, the special investigation team started the investigation which indicated that the double murder was the result of political rivalry.According to Pradeep Kumar, DSP, crime detachment cell, who is heading the probe team, prima facie there was no other reason other than political rivalry which could lead to such a gory incident. “Barring a few incidents of vandalism, the law and order condition is under control and the hope is that the killers would be nabbed very soon,” he added.In the FIR, the complainants have named the CPM and Kripesh’s father has also pointed fingers at the local leaders.Bodies crematedThe bodies were handed over to the relatives after autopsy at Pariyaram Medical College Hospital around Monday noon, and were taken in procession to their native place for cremation..
